Impact Circle Discusses Pioneering Diagnostics in Medicine
Impact Gstaad hosted the first Impact Circle event of the year last Friday in Gsteig. Under the theme "Physical Health - The Power of Diagnostics in Modern Medicine", experts from science and business discussed the future of medical technology and presented promising innovations. Doris Leuthard, former Federal Councillor and President of the Green Business Award jury, also gave an insight into the partnership between Impact Gstaad and Green Business Switzerland.
Partnership with Green Business Switzerland
"We all know that time is running out." With these words, Doris Leuthard, President of the Green Business Award jury, opened the first official item on the programme of the Impact Circle event: the announcement of the partnership between Green Business Switzerland and Impact Gstaad. Every year, the Green Business Award honours the most innovative Swiss solutions that combine ecological impact with economic success. According to Leuthard, the integration of the economy is probably the most important factor in terms of a sustainable future. Manuel Linder, President of the Impact Gstaad Association, sees great potential in the cooperation with Green Business Switzerland: "For ecological solutions to make a real difference to the planet, they need to grow internationally. Finding the necessary funding for this has been very difficult in Switzerland so far. Together with Green Business Switzerland, we want to close this gap."
Medicine of tomorrow
The Impact Circle event focussed on innovative diagnostic procedures and their importance for a more sustainable healthcare system. "Technological innovations in the field of medicine will enable us to detect diseases at an early stage and offer individualised therapies and predictions in the future," said ETH research director Prof. Christian Wolfrum in his opening speech on the topic.
In addition to national and international start-ups and spin-offs from the fields of medical technology, digital health and prevention, the local project Gstaad international Healthcare was also given the opportunity to introduce itself to the Impact Circle members. Gstaad international Healthcare aims to provide cutting-edge diagnostics and healthcare services for the Saanenland region.
The afternoon was livened up with an activation session by movement therapist, yoga teacher and meditation counsellor Christina Eggenschwiler. Using special breathing and movement exercises, she demonstrated how the ability to concentrate and well-being can be increased with the help of short exercise units.
"A fascinating glimpse into the future"
Manuel Linder rated the Impact Circle event in Gsteig as a complete success. "It is impressive to see what is already possible in diagnostics". He is convinced that, with the help of research, we will be able to see further quantum leaps in the coming years. According to Linder, this is also essential in terms of sustainability. Because: "Only healthy people can work towards a sustainable future."
