Impact Advisory Board Member Karl Benno Nagy
Scalable models for more humanity
In the service of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals
When Karl Benno Nagy from Hamburg celebrated his 50th birthday six years ago, he made a decision. After many successful years as an entrepreneur, the time should now have come to "give something back to Mother Earth and people who are not as privileged as we are", as Nagy puts it. From now on, the great-nephew of the Hungarian freedom fighter Imre Nagy wanted to put his actions at the service of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. With the Kabena Group, Nagy created the corresponding impact investing vehicle and has since dedicated himself to world-changing heart projects. For example, he set himself the goal of ridding the world's second largest freshwater reserve, Lake Victoria in East Africa, of a water hyacinth infestation using a biogas process. Thanks to the Kabena Group, this promising method has now been developed to the point where construction of a processing plant can begin this year.
In the video, Karl Benno Nagy explains how he sees Impact Gstaad as a great opportunity in the fight against climate catastrophe.
