Gstaad is a sustainable mountain destination with influential locals and guests who have a measurable impact locally, regionally and globally.
What are the goals of Impact Gstaad?
With its projects, Impact Gstaad aims to have a measurable influence on the sustainable and successful further development of the destination of Gstaad and, as an ambitious impact investing hub, to bring influential locals and guests together with sustainability visionaries.
Impact Gstaad initiates, develops and supports local sustainability projects, implements its own flagship projects and connects curated international sustainability visionaries with global impact with potential investors. The aim is to make a measurable contribution to both a sustainable Gstaad and a sustainable world (“From little Gstaad to the big world”). This goal is based on two principles:
Sustainable development of the Saanenland
We don’t just talk about change, we are an active part of it ourselves. With local measures, together with regional partners from the destination of Gstaad, we are becoming drivers of sustainability ourselves. We are transparent, act in line with the destination strategy, involve the (local) population and document the direct impact of our actions.
Networking platform
With the targeted organization of events, concrete implementation projects and active member management, we network players from science, business, politics and finance.
Why Gstaad in particular?
With its geographical and geopolitical location as well as its international appeal, Gstaad is in a very special field of tension. As a mountain region focused on winter tourism, the destination is particularly affected by climate change and increasing urbanization. The topic of sustainability has therefore long been a major priority in the development goals of the destination of Gstaad and is an important part of the destination’s tourism strategy.
