What is the Green Business Award?
Every year since 2019, the Green Business Award has honored the most innovative Swiss companies that combine ecological impact with economic success. In the first phase of the selection process, around 20 national scouts from the worlds of business and environmental protection nominate the best solutions in their sector for the award. From these, an interdisciplinary jury of experts awards the Green Business Excellence label to the five best solutions. These five companies present themselves with a pitch to the main jury chaired by former Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard. This jury includes 14 other well-known personalities, including Reto Knutti (ETH professor of climate physics), Betrand Piccard (Solar Impulse), Roberto Cirillo (CEO of Swiss Post) and business journalist and entrepreneur Patrizia Laeri. Three of these five companies will be selected as finalists for the Green Business Award, one of which will receive the coveted award at the Impact Circle of Impact Gstaad on February 14, 2025.
Opportunity for scale-up financing for inspiring solutions
Under the motto “From little Gstaad to the big world”, Impact Gstaad has set itself the goal of bringing together sustainability visionaries and potential investors through its events. When asked about the collaboration with Green Business Switzerland, Manuel Linder, president of the association’s board, says: “For ecological solutions to really make a difference for our planet, they need to grow internationally. Until now, it has been extremely difficult to obtain the necessary funding in Switzerland. Together with the Green Business Award, we want to close this gap.”
