#TOGETHERBAND

That's what it's all about

  • A British fashion label produces sustainable bracelets in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

  • The bracelets are made from recycled plastic from the sea and discarded illegal weapons.

  • Each of the 17 different colored bracelets represents an SDG.

The changing earth

It is an ambitious goal that the British label BOTTLETOP, which specializes in sustainable fashion, and the major Swiss bank UBS have set themselves: With their joint campaign #TOGETHERBAND, they want to get one billion people to express their support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by wearing a colored bracelet. These 17 goals for a sustainable future were formulated by the UN in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda (find out more in this article).
The bracelets are supplied in pairs so that one can be given as a gift and the message of the sustainability goals can be spread.

From plastic waste & illegal weapons

BOTTLETOP only uses recycled materials for the production of #TOGETHERBANDs. The clasp, for example, is made from Humanium metal, which was recycled from confiscated illegal firearms in Central America. The strap is made from upcycled plastic waste that was previously fished out of the sea. The recycled materials are then sent to Nepalese artisans who make the bracelets. This supports local communities and the local economy. The net proceeds from #TOGETHERBANDS will go entirely to projects that promote the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

From David Beckham to Naomi Campbell

To underline the urgency of the campaign, #TOGETHERBAND is relying on the support of numerous celebrities from around the world. Not only the British ex-footballer David Beckham and the model Naomi Campbell could be won over, but also racing driver Lewis Hamilton and Princess Eugenie of York. (nth)
